Community Involvement

Sylvia’s Caring Companions Health Care Services believes our success would not be possible with out the support of our clients and community. We appreciate the community in which we live and stay involved.

Sylvia’s Caring Companions was inspired on October 2006 thru our founder Darlene St. Romain’s mother, Sylvia Edwards. Ms.Edwards was very involved in her community, she never met a stranger and loved everyone. She constantly provided love and care to anyone who was in need. She was a very giving person. She raised her childern to be strong, ambitious young men and women. Ms. Edwards inspired our founder, Darlene and has given her the strength to endure it all through GOD. Ms. Edwards always made it known to her chlidren if you want something go out and work hard and get it because nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream. community

Sylvia Edwards School Readiness Scholarship Fund

In an effort to prepare our children to start the school year on a positive note, our family has established the Sylvia Edwards School Readiness Scholarship Fund. This fund will be used to purchase items needed to be successful in school, and help to continue a child’s quality education. This award is given annually to a High school student. We at Sylvia’s Caring Companions believe all our children are special and deserve a GREAT EDUCATION!

community Sylvia’s Thanksgiving Dinner

In an effort to show appreciation to our clients during the holidays Sylvia’s Caring Companions staff prepares Thanksgiving dinner for all of our clients every third Thursday in November. This dinner is delivered to our clients home.

community Sylvia’s Toy Fund Drive

In lieu of the Christmas spirit Sylvia’s Caring Companions has created a Christmas Toy Fund to extend our love and Christmas spirit to the children in the community. Toys and other gifts are presented to children selected from local schools and churches.
